Bill Thomason became President and Chief Executive Officer of Keeneland in 2012 after serving as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2010.
Thomason graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration. He worked two years as an accountant before joining Mill Ridge Farm, where he worked for 28 years as Financial and Administrative Manager.
He has been a member of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) since its inception in 2012 and is also a member of The Jockey Club, a Trustee of the American Horse Council, and a board member of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA), Thoroughbred Racing Associations (TRA), Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau (TRPB), University of Kentucky Gluck Equine Research Foundation, Kentucky Chamber, Central Kentucky Chapter of the American Heart Association and Central Bank Lexington’s Advisory Board of Directors.
“From the beginning, the objective of the TAA was to be efficient with industry resources and to put money where it was needed to help horses. We have made a long-term commitment to use Keeneland’s existing resources to help further TAA’s work and are proud to support an effort completely aligned with Keeneland’s mission.”
