James G. Bell — TAA Immediate Past President

President and Racing Manager of Godolphin

James (Jimmy) G. Bell is the President and Racing Manager of Godolphin, a position that he has held since 2001, when Sheikh Mohammed acquired his family’s Jonabell Farm. During his tenure, he has overseen the careers of Sheikh Mohammed’s many U.S.-based grade 1 winners including Bernardini, It’s Tricky, Cocoa Beach, Music Note, Questing, Better Lucky, Maxfield, and Essential Quality, among others. Prior to his position with Godolphin, Jimmy was the President and General Manager of Jonabell Farm, and a Director of Cromwell Bloodstock Agency and Cromwell Insurance Agency.

Jimmy graduated from the University of Arizona in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science. He is very involved with community and industry charities. He has held various positions on industry and community boards, including the The Jockey Club, Keeneland Association, Fayette Alliance, Thoroughbred Club of America, and Kentucky Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, to name just a few.
