Mike Meuser was formerly Vice President and Secretary of the TAA since it was founded. He also chaired Governance Committee. Mike is a shareholder and Managing Director at Miller, Griffin & Marks, P.S.C. in Lexington, Kentucky where he has practiced law for the past thirty-eight years. He also has over 30 years of experience in non-profit board leadership and service.
For the past 30 years his law practice has been concentrated almost exclusively in the fields of equine transactions and equine civil litigation. He has a number of published court decisions involving sale of Thoroughbreds. He is a Fellow of the American College of Equine Attorneys and currently is Chair of the Planning Committee of the University of Kentucky National Equine Law Conference. He represents a number of Thoroughbred Stallion operations and racing interests in the U.S. and abroad. In 2013, he was named Outstanding Equine Lawyer of the year by the Kentucky Bar Association for the decision the Kentucky appellate courts in the case of Rodney Stewart, D.V.M. vs. The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. He has represented numerous Thoroughbred trainers in Kentucky and other states in medication positives involving environmental contamination. He is previously served as a Board Member of the Gluck Equine Research Foundation.
