Quick Call retired in 1992, having made 86 starts and earning more than $800,000. He was the oldest of the 650 horses cared for by TAA-accredited Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
The multiple graded stakes winning son of Quack lived at the Wallkill Correctional Facility near New Paltz, New York where he plays a vital part of the TRF’s Second Chances Program. The program uses former racehorses to not only teach equine care as a vocation to inmates, but also lessons in trust, responsibility, and mutual respect. He’s the namesake of the Quick Call Stakes (G3T), a 5 1/2-furlong turf sprint at Saratoga Race Course, the location of where he won back-to-back editions of the Forego Handicap (then a G2) in 1998-1999.
