Ric Waldman Thoroughbred Consulting


Ric began his career in the Thoroughbred industry in 1973 with Fasig-Tipton Company, Inc. He left as assistant general manager in 1981 to become business manager at Airdrie Stud. In 1984 He founded a consulting company that still bears his name. As a Thoroughbred consultant Ric has provided advice on breeding, stallion management, expert witness and appraisal services for various individuals, farms, estates, banks, and attorneys. Additionally, under the umbrella of his consulting firm, Ric was vice president in charge of Thoroughbred operations of Windfields Farm, as well as syndicate manager and in-house consultant to Overbrook Farm. Among the stallions whose careers he managed were Storm Cat, The Minstrel, Deputy Minister, Silver Deputy and Carson City. He was the co-breeder of champion Bluebird.

Ric has served on the boards of KTA, TOBA, Thoroughbred Club of America, YMCA of Central Kentucky, Kentucky Fair Board and The Lexington School.
